What Do You Want?

Step #2 of 10

Knowing what you want is an essential step in creating a better future. Sorting out long- and short-term goals can be daunting, but something as simple as knowing what you want should be easy, right?

Wrong!

Why does knowing what you want matter? Most people don’t know what they want so they have regrets later in life when they feel they are unsuccessful. If we ask ourselves what we want often, we are more likely to ask ourselves what makes us happy.

Happiness is a positive emotion that includes joy, contentment, calmness, and peace of mind

But we are impacted by:

  • Worry - 90% of what we needlessly worry about never occurs
  • Self-doubt - unconscious fear of failure
  • Circumstances - both good and bad as life pulls us and pushes us

Ask yourself these questions

    What am I grateful for?

    What do I want?

    What do I need?

What do I have to prove?

    What are my values?

    What is my purpose

    Who do I love?

    Who loves me?

How will my life benefit those around me?

HPA Academy has created the My Vision – My Life questionnaire to help you think deeply about what is most important to you and what you want.  Our questionnaire prompts you to consider where you may be in three to five years?

After completing our questionnaire, clients are asked one additional question…

How different would your life be today if you had been asked these questions five years ago?

The answers to this single question have been:

    • Dramatic
    • Emotional
    • Life-changing for many

This simple drill served as a wake-up call for many! It showed them they didn’t know what they want.

This post is Part 2 of 10 in the series "The Magic of Your Mind, and You are the Magician"

    1. Gratitude - What three things are you grateful for right now?
    2. Wants / Desires - What you are grateful for RIGHT NOW is the clue to what you want more of.
    3. Fear of Failure - It stops most people before they start.
    4. Vision - Your gift from the universe. Most people are so “distracted” that they never see their vision.
    5. Purpose - Bigger than you and part of giving back.
    6. Needs - Must do now ( not “nice” to do - “must do’s” ).
    7. Goals - The  Score Card of your short-term progress toward your long-term goals.
    8. Prioritizing Actions - High Payoff Activities - the 80/20 Rule.
    9. Accountability - You can’t do this on your own! You'll need a trusted person to hold you accountable.
    10. Habits - You are your habits.
