It is when you follow a system that has doubled sales for many sales managers.
All tasks are not equal. Some tasks can earn you $10, and other tasks earn $1,000. The magic is knowing what to do next.
Do you find yourself thinking there aren't enough hours in a day? How about a week?
Hard Choices + High Payoff Activities = Easy Life
or
Easy Choices + Low Payoff Activities = Hard Life
POINT ONE: Hard Choices
Before you make a decision, you have a split-second opportunity to decide if you will make the easy choice or the difficult one. Practice self-control and small disciplines so that when something big comes along, you have the internal muscle to make the hard choice and take purposeful action. You can then enjoy "the winning feeling," which results from taking action on those hard choices.
POINT TWO: + High Payoff Activities
All of the good things you have earned so far in life have come from your purposeful actions. There are no free lunches nor magic bullets. Achievements come from perseverance and grit.
Certain activities lead you directly to what you want in life. These activities are called High Payoff Activities (HPAs).
Most people spend their day engaged in activities and distractions that do not move them closer to their goals. We can think of these distractions as Low Payoff Activities (LPAs).
Little things add up. You must be aware of what direction your activities are taking you and be determined to take the actions that bring you what you want out of life.
POINT THREE: = Easy Life
Your definition of "the good life" is as unique as you. It probably includes some aspects of the following:
- Life Balance
- Peace of Mind
- Love and Happiness
- Good Health
- Financial Security
- Giving and Serving Others
- Gratitude for Meaningful Relationships with Friends/Family
A meaningful life can be achieved through purposeful actions. Without the proper guidance and direction, you are playing a lottery that has low odds of winning. It is not a matter of luck or occasional big efforts; instead, success comes from making hard choices and taking purposeful action daily. Then success is predictable!
